Did you have a bumper crop this year or perhaps too many culls? Did you over-produce and couldn't find a market? Perhaps extra produce that didn't sell after the farmers market? Our local farms and market vendors have contributed over 34,000 lbs of fruits and vegetables to Backyard Harvest, saving them from the compost pile or being tilled under. Join the likes of Amapola Ranch, Fairview Gardens, Shepherd Farms and help contribute to the 55 different varieties of nutritious produce being served on the tables of our less fortunate neighbors. Grab your cargo bike, trailer, rack & panniers and help deliver food by bicycle. Backyard Harvest has collected 20,000 lbs of fresh produce from vendors at the Farmers Market. Meet at Wheelhouse @ 528 Anacapa and help pedal some of this much needed produce to various downtown agencies serving in-need residents. Join us and get your free BYH t-shirt. |
